When you control your weight in a way that is suitable to your age and height, you can lead a healthy life. There are many precious food items that will enable this. If your weight is the concern, you should reduce the fats and carbohydrates in diet. Instead you should increase raw vegetables, fruits and leafs. They contain much lesser calories and is also rich in fiber. Fiber increases the satiety and reduces the blood cholesterol levels. Reducing carbohydrates will help a better glycaemic control as well.

Energy and productivity go in hand in hand. They are essential key factors for a successful life. No matter how motivated you in work, it isn’t possible to complete your daily goals if you don’t have enough energy. For you stay focused mood control is a important aspect. Mood depends on the state of happiness in your life. Apart from that stress, depression, several disorders, physical activity and food can affect the mood. There are several easy dietary modifications that can be practiced to stabilize the mood.

Serotonin is a chemical in the body that enables mood stabilization. It helps you to have regular healthy sleeping patterns. This chemical gives you a feeling of happiness. So eating this food that can boost your serotonin levels is beneficial. Serotonin is synthesized from an amino acid called tryptophan. So eating tryptophan rich food will increase the serotonin levels. Various researches have suggested that tryptophan and serotonin depletion has role in causing mood associated disorders.

There are many tryptophan rich foods such as eggs, cheese, tofu, pineapples, salmon, nuts and seeds.  But even if you eat these foods there is a competition in the gut to absorb various types of amino acids. Therefore the tryptophan absorption will be limited by the other amino acids.  This effect can be eliminated if you boost the post-prandial insulin levels as insulin increases the absorption of amino acids in gut. As a result the net tryptophan level in blood increases. This can be achieved by eating carbohydrate rich food.

By combining above mentioned amino acid rich food with carbohydrate rich food such as rice, cereals, whole grain bread bring about this effect. But you should be careful not to eat too much of these food for breakfast. Otherwise it will induce sleep and your work will be ruined. You might think pastas; burgers which have large quantities of carbohydrates will help you to boost the serotonin levels.

This is true as there is temporary alleviation of stress but excessive amounts will cause an induction of sleep and will decrease the energy levels. Also long term consumption of these foods will make you overweight and obese.

Therefore what you should consume is a balanced amount of these tryptophan and carbohydrate food along with vegetables and fruits that have vitamins and minerals that boost your immunity. Having a strong immunity will increase your productivity on a long term basis. Animal proteins and green leafy vegetables also contain adequate quantities of iron that helps to increase the oxygen carrying capacity of blood by increasing the hemoglobin synthesize.

Along with this you should be careful not to engage in excessive dieting or fating hours that make you feel hungry all the time which results in a drop in energy level. Caffeine in coffee beverages is a stimulant that can increase the energy level temporarily. Getting addicted to caffeine will suppress the body’s physiological stimulants of the adrenal glands and therefore you should refrain from drinking coffee several times a day.

Following the above habits will enable you to lead a happy successful life! 😉
